Hear how the University of Leicester has successfully implemented their Digital Employee Experience (DEX) strategy
When you’ve got an estate of 7,500 devices and just 15 dissatisfied users, you know you’re on the right track. Before this, aged devices and dissatisfied users were creating challenges for the University and the IT team needed to win back trust.
Owen Dickenson, Head of Workplace Technology Services at University of Leicester, shares how partnering with DTP transformed device management, changed customer perceptions, and rebuilt confidence in IT.
Spotlight on our Social Value
Through our focused initiatives, DTP is committed to creating a more equitable, sustainable, and thriving future for all. Our mission resonates deeply with our teams, inspires our customers, and positively impacts the communities we serve.

Meet the Team
Say hello to Dawood Alam, our Digital Workplace Specialist!
Dawood recently joins us as our New Business Development Manager within the Public Sector Sales team. He’ll be driving forward our new business activities; supporting customers with hardware, services, and asset upcycling solutions.
With 7 years’ experience in business development, Dawood brings a strong background in both public sector and enterprise sales.
Outside of work, Dawood enjoys travelling the world and in his own words (attempting!) to rebuild crashed cars bought from auction. We’re delighted to have you on board, Dawood - welcome to DTP!
Feel free to get in touch with Dawood about any of your end user compute requirements!
Event Highlights
It’s been a busy and exciting few months for the DTP team! We’ve been out and about hosting and sponsoring a number of events - catching up with customers, meeting new faces, and connecting with IT leaders from across the UK. These events have provided fantastic opportunities to hear first-hand about the challenges and priorities shaping different sectors.
Beyond the world of IT, we’re also incredibly proud of our ‘sleep out’ team, who swapped their warm beds for sleeping bags in the centre of Leeds (in the middle of Storm Amy!) to support Action for Children - helping to create safer, happier futures for young people across the UK.

Education under attack: It's time to turn words into action
The latest Cyber Security Breaches Survey 2025 makes for uncomfortable reading, but not a surprising one. With 91% of higher education institutions reporting a breach last year, education remains one of the most targeted and most vulnerable sectors in the UK.
Why? Because it’s a perfect storm.
Universities, colleges, and schools hold a treasure trove of data; personal details, financial information, and valuable intellectual property. For attackers, this isn’t only about disruption, but profit too.
Rethinking digital transformation through a net zero lens
Digital transformation has long been framed as a race for speed and innovation. Faster systems, smarter data, more automation. But in the push to modernise, one question often gets overlooked: what does this mean for sustainability?
Without a Net Zero lens, transformation projects risk adding complexity, cost, and even carbon. Cloud sprawl, duplicated data, and clunky workflows can undo the very progress organisations hope to make. The challenge for leaders is clear: digital transformation must be rethought as a sustainability strategy as much as a technology one.
The hidden costs of a poor hybrid cloud strategy and how to avoid them
Hybrid cloud promised to be the answer to every organisation’s digital transformation challenges. The ability to leverage both on-premise infrastructure and public cloud services should deliver the best of both worlds: control and compliance alongside scalability and innovation.
Yet for many organisations, instead of smooth integration and lower costs, they face fragmented systems, spiralling expenses, and operational complexity that utilise valuable IT resources.
